BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

 

 

        The Business and Management Department offers Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with two (2) major areas: Financial Management and Marketing Management.

Department Goal:

        The BSBA Degree program aims to develop highly motivated, responsible, and competent leaders in business and management who are mindful of the business ethics and practices, and their role in nation building.

 

Objectives

The Business Administration Department aims to

  1. provide the students the appropriate and necessary competency in the area of business and management;
  2. prepare the students for their chosen career through exposure to real work environment and participation in outside activities/contests that would enhance students’ skills in business and management;
  3. make students aware of and live up to the principles of business ethics and practices;
  4. train students to meet the manpower needs of the region/country to enable them to assume responsibility in the business community; and
  5. maintain linkages with professional organizations for the purpose of designing more relevant curricular offerings.

 

Retention Policy

Prospective second year students who wish to be retained in the program need to fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Must maintain a WPA of 80%;
  2. Must have no grade lower than 80 in their major subjects; otherwise they will repeat the major subjects.

Probation Policy

  1. Students who are placed on probation will be given a semestral load of 3 units less than the regular load. Additional unit deduction, however, shall be decided upon by the Dean depending on his/her overall appraisal of the student’s academic credentials/performance.
  2. Students are allowed a maximum of two (2) probationary periods only. All probation periods are counted, even with intervals of semesters or years. An advice to shift to another program shall be given to students who failed to comply with the probationary requirements.          

The same rules apply to all shifters and transferees.

  1. A student who is placed on probation may be advised to shift to another program even if he/she has not yet consumed the maximum of two (2) probationary periods on grounds deemed reasonable and justifiable by the Dean.
